Please join us this Sunday, June 14, 2020 after the 10:00am Mass for a procession with the Blessed Sacrament around our neighborhood.
The path will be similar to the one we used during our Palm Sunday procession.
Based on the current, slowly evolving, reopening stages, we now invite you to join us in our ambulatory procession, as traced out in the enclosed map. We ask that all attendees keep a social distance of 6 feet from others outside your own household as best you can while walking. Please bring a mask with you in the event that remaining 6 feet apart becomes impossible. Please also know that we may have to ask everyone to wear a mask even if social distancing is pristine. (In any event, we advise that you take measures to safely and periodically remove the mask and breath the fresh air whenever you can). If you still feel uncomfortable with distancing measures due to health or immuno-compromised reasons, please refrain from attending the procession by foot. You are free to meet us in your car either in our parking lot for the Benediction or anywhere along the listed route. Because we are walking through neighborhoods, please be respectful of the personal properties belonging to the residents. If for whatever reason you believe that you may have a viral infection similar to those symptoms related to Covid-19, we ask that you please remain at home and get back to full health for your own safety and those of others.
Please don’t forget to bring water with you to drink! If anyone ever feels the need to turn around and go back because of any strain, please don’t hesitate to go or ask one of the priests or servers for help.
Procession, Altar Stations, Bells, & Live-streaming
As of right now we do not yet know if we have the ability to live-stream the procession. Please note, the procession will most likely last between 1 to 1.5 hours from exit to entrance back into the Church. “Stations” with altars for benediction of the Blessed Sacrament will be set up along the route, and periodically we will halt for the prayers. Please bring bells with you! (car keys will do too)
Whenever you hear the altar server ring the church bells during the procession, ring yours too! Loud and Proud!
Receiving Holy Communion
Holy Communion for those receiving after the 10 am Mass will be distributed by another priest in the Church while the procession is taking place outdoors. The rest of the congregants who have not yet received Holy Communion due to the procession will have an opportunity to receive our Lord upon returning to the Church after the procession. Please be attuned to any ongoing measures as we try to maintain the health-protocols along the way or upon returning to the Church for Holy Communion.
Do Not Be Afraid
We do hope, that despite the current measures, which may feel somewhat burdensome, you feel free enough to choose to join us and our Lord in this most Solemn and Beautiful ritual. Remember, that He whom we follow is not a spectator or a mere piece of bread, but Jesus Himself. As a large community and family, let us show the world that God exists, that He loves us, and He is still among us – in the Real Presence of the Eucharist, in the ministry of the priests, and in the communion of the faithful. We place our confidence in Jesus, and entrust our parish to His loving and most Sacred Heart, through Mary.
