Updates on Religious Education for 2020-2021
Based on the current Guidelines from the Archdiocese we are planning on offering the following options for Religious Education for the coming year:
Option 1: Traditional Home Study Option (parent led, textbooks and modified lesson plans and handouts provided, check in 2 times a year)
Option 2: Virtual Religious Education (materials provided, 2-3 virtual calls per month catechist led)
Option 3: Hybrid Model of Virtual and Meeting 1 Time per month in person (materials provided, 2-3 virtual calls per month, 1 meeting a month in person)

St. Theresa Religious Education offers in class sessions for Kindergarten – 7th grade on Tuesdays 4:30pm – 6:00pm and Saturdays 9:00am – 10:30am. Classes meet September – April. Confirmation year II class sessions are offered Sundays 9:00am – 11:00am, Tuesdays 4:30pm – 6:00pm, and Saturdays 9:00am – 10:30am.
Home Study options are also available for non-Sacramental years.
In correlation with Archdiocesan Standards, a minimum of two years of formal Religious Education are required for the reception of Sacraments.
RE Handbook for Parents & Students
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered during the 10:00am Mass September – April for students in preschool through 2nd grade. There is no registration or fee for Children’s Liturgy of the Word.
Religious Education is always looking for catechists and substitute catechists for Religious Education (weekly commitment) and Children’s Liturgy of the Word (once a month commitment). If interested or for more information, please contact the Religious Education Office.
Religious Education Board
St. Theresa Religious Education Board is a group of Catholic men and women of a variety of ages, single and married, parents and grandparents, cradle Catholics and converts, parishioners and non-parishioners, ordained, and lay ministers who actively participate in guiding and supporting the Mission of St. Theresa Parish and the Director of Religious Education regarding programming and formation, increasing participation, and serving the catechetical needs of the greater parish community. Membership terms are a three year commitment. Meetings are held once a month on Monday evenings. Applications are due by June 1.
