Meet the DRE!

Elizabeth Vogt is the Director of Religious Education (DRE) at St. Theresa Parish in Palatine, Illinois. After graduating college from Benedictine University in Atchison, Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and Youth Ministry, Elizabeth moved to the Chicago area. At this time, she reconnected with the retired Bishop of Arkansas, Bishop Andrew J. McDonald who was serving as the chaplain for the Little Sisters of the Poor St. Joseph’s Home in Palatine. In August 2003, Elizabeth began working at St. Theresa. In 2008, she received her Master of Arts in Religious Education from Loyola University.

Elizabeth is grateful for her parents’ example in passing down the richness of the faith. Through her involvement in the Church and high school youth ministry, she was drawn to work for the Church in some way. St. Theresa has become a spiritual home for Elizabeth and her family. It is at St. Theresa where she and her husband Greg met and eventually married, and they are now raising their three children in this parish. It brings her such joy to work with the catechists, students, and families in passing on the richness of our faith, especially opportunities of bringing families together and seeing the students receive the Sacraments.
